This year marks the 75th Anniversary of Blackburn Cycling Club!

Blackburn Cycling Club was first started in 1946 by George Robinson, who operated ‘Rob’s Cycles’ in Main St, Blackburn. Rob Cycles began as a bicycle repair shop, then once the war ended, George began to manufacture and sell bike frames.

Over these 75 years, since its inception, Blackburn Cycling Club has produced many State, National, Olympic and World representatives and champions.

Blackburn Cycling Club members that went on to represent Australia at the Olympics were John Nicholson, Don Allan, Kelvin Poole, Scott Steward, Kathy Watt, Damian McDonald, Martin Vinnicombe, Gary Trowell, and Alistair Donohoe. Alistair Donohoe is also competing at the Paralympics this year in Tokyo.

Members who made it to the Commonwealth Games were Malcolm Powell, John Nicholson, Gary Fromhold, Gary Hammond, Kathy Watt, Steven Drake and Karen Barrow.
Members who have represented us at World Cycling Championships were Billie Joe Shearsby, David Moreland, Ken Woollard, Alexander Morgan, Elizabeth Randall, Alistair Donohoe, Emerson Harwood, Sam Gallagher, Conor Rowley, Caitlin Ward and Godfrey Slattery.

This will be a page for past and present members to celebrate & share in the wonderful history of Blackburn Cycling Club.
