The club runs a novice J – Cycle Track Program each Thursday evening during the track season. The 6 week program is part of the Junior Development Pathway (JDP) and follows on from the Let’s Race program. The 6 week J-Cycle Program commences on each riders first attendance and attendance is expected each week following. Registration occurs via Team App at https://blackburncyclingclub.teamapp.com/events on each Thursday session. Riders are requested to arrive at 5:45pm to organise set up of a club track bike or bring your own bike. The program begins promptly at 6:00pm and it involves coaches teaching riders of all ages the basics of track cycling, including the different events that riders may compete in. The program is run by accredited coaches with assistance of others including rider mentors.
On Saturday morning 10:00 am – 12:00pm throughout the track season, J-Cycle riders can experience a further opportunity to enhance their ride/race skills in a controlled environment. Progression into the age divisions is subject to both the rider and the club officials being confident in their ability and to a positive assessment of their riding ability by an accredited cycling coach.

All J-Cycle riders must hold a Cycling Australia licence. The cost of a licence will vary depending on each riders individual age group.
