Rowville Riders are doing the Crucifix on Good Friday! This is not a ride for the faint hearted. Blackburn members are invited to attend but please note this is a ride for experienced climbers, you need to be able to ride over 2500vm!

The following is the info on the ride. You can also find this on the Rowville Riders Team App.

The Crucifix is here! We have a new starting location!!! We are kicking off our ride at the Waterford Valley Golf Course in Rowville. Please meet and park your cars in the first car park on the left when entering from Karoo Road. This will keep the golf club happy!

We are going to have 2 Groups take on the crucifix in the Dandenongs; with one tackling the Super Crucifix!! and in the process we will be raising money for the Royal Children’s Hospital. Your $10 donation is much appreciated! Where your ribbon with pride!

Everyone is welcome even if you only want to nominate for just one or 2 or all of the climbs!!

The route for the Super Crucifix can be found here: https://www.strava.com/routes/1594486

The route for the Crucifix can be found here: https://www.strava.com/routes/1594430

The start point will be at the Waterford Valley Golf Club Car Park. As it is a long day in the saddle start time will be 6am for a briefing and a 6.10am push off. Please be on time.

More info will be posted on Team App on Monday night before the ride with specific details and a list of things you should carry with you. It is not a race but an epic ride as your personal challenge. You should look at the routes above to decide which one you want to attempt. The order is the same but the Super Crucifix pivots at Sky High – 4 times and the Crucifix pivots through Olinda. The Super is 113km and 3200vm and the Crucifix is 93km and 2500vm. From Waterford Valley the order is Devil’s Elbow/One Tree Hill, Inverness, The Wall and then 1 in 20. EPIC!!!!

We are having our end of ride coffee stop and chat at Dudley’s in Olinda. This will happen after you have finished the 1 in 20 and come back into Olinda/SkyHigh for your last pivot of your crucifix. After your coffee, buddy up and ride back together over One Tree Hill and Devil’s Elbow back to Waterford Valley Golf Club and home! Dudley’s are putting together a Rowville Riders Special Coffee/snack option. Details shortly.

We can use Dudley’s also as a place to leave drinks/jackets/gels (shoes). A “valet” service will be provided by Michelle, who will collect your things from Waterford Valley Golf Club at the pre ride briefing and take them up the hill to Dudley’s!
